I wasn't originally going to this show, but I don't think one will be enough and I've been checking for tix and hotel rooms... Anyone else heading to AC?

I'll be at the Atlantic City show. I'm from Texas, but I can't make the Dallas date (ugh, work). I need a freaking vacation so my hubby and I will be at the AC show. Just look for the goth couple. ;) I'll most likely be wearing ridiculously tall boots.

OMG - I think you just made this a lock for me! I'd be in the venue with she-of-the-necklace! That has to be some kind of good karma - right?

I will be decidedly not Goth, though I will likely be dressed in my tribute black (w/shoes = black Converse high-tops. BWAH!) I am small and easily lost in crowds. =D

Would love to meet you, though - it's always fun meeting board peeps in "real life"!

LOL. I'm sure it's good karma, at least I'm hoping it is! :)

FYI, I love converse. Those are my trusty standby casual shoes. I love my black and pink ones!

We should definitely meet up. Did you get tickets yet? If not, when you do, let me know where you're sitting so we can be on the look out for each other. I need to go look at our ticket information because I don't remember where we're sitting. I know it's on the floor, but I'm not sure what section.

No tix yet because I was late to check into this concert. I actually did pull up a decent ticket the first day of sales, but misread the chart, thought it was way far up high and threw it back. ~sigh~ So I think I'll be spending some big $$$. =(

I'll certainly let you know where I end up!

~waves~ to WD and Deezer!

Just updating - Atlantic City is a done deal for me!

It was done much better last night when I found an incredible deal on Section 2/Row 2 broker ticket - (relatively) bargain priced I'm sure because it was a single - and purchased it. However I was informed this morning that the ticket was no longer available - the sites can't really update over night, the agent said, so you never know... (no charge on the CCard).

So I had to settle for something way less awesome - but also less expensive and a whole lot more definite. *g* Flr 1/Row 2/Seat 1 (a-l-l the way over on the far aisle - near WD's 103 section.). I'm sure hoping Stage Right is a popular area!

btw Scarlett - your husband is frickin' adorable!

I'm thinking I'm thinking....

I was just in AC today and passed right by Boardwalk Hall - it will be an awesome place to see Adam; AC is so, well y'know GLITTERY (in a kind of sleazy but kinda cool way). I hope someone has thought through having a helo/plane planned for Adm & Kris to get from NYC to AC on a Friday in the summer. Getting down the GSP will be a bitch!

Hmmm...as of now no one is going to my concert(s) - either of the Long Island ones or Newark and I don't have tickets yet but seeing the representation at this one is making me seriously waver...big time. I have access to a car and the drive isn't too bad. DECISIONS!

You have better seats than us. I've been nagging the hubby to let me buy seats in section 2 on stubhub but he says they're too expensive. He's right, of course. I'm in section 4 row 7 I think? I still need to look at that email. I think I'll wait to shell out the big bucks to be in the front row for Adam's solo tour. I just hope he comes to Houston so I don't have to fly far away to see him...LOL.

And thank you, I think he's adorable too but I may be a bit biased. :D

amberwaves and jerseytrash - you should go to the AC show. We can meet up. It'll be fun!

I've never been to Atlantic City. We're staying at Caesar's Palace because it seemed close to the venue. Anyone know if it is?

Well, here's where I stand - right now, I'm not working but I am expecting an offer (I HOPE - its been 4 months and I am going insane). IF/WHEN I get an offer, I think I should buy myself a gift....and now I have a good idea of what that gift will be :)

Stay tuned.

Yes, it's right next door to Boardwalk Hall. Most of the casinos (with the exception of Borgata) are along the boardwalk or not very far away. (Important edit!)

Scarlett - I can give you the head's up on restaurants if you want. Budakan is sort of in Ceasar's and it's really really good if you're into Pan-Asian cuisine, but you should make reservations ahead of time. There are also a couple of AC landmarks (The Whitehouse for cheesesteaks) that you might find fun. Also FWIW, there are a ton of outlet stores - for clothing basics (white tee's, work clothes, etc.) - there's no tax on clothing in NJ. One of the plusses of living here.

Great. I'm glad we'll be close. :)

Any information you can give me on AC would be appreciated. Buddakan sounds good. I just looked at their menu online. I'm a vegetarian and a somewhat picky eater. My hubby is the exact opposite...he'll try the craziest thing on the menu wherever we go.

Outlet stores + no tax on clothes?! I think I may need a bigger shopping budget for this trip than I thought! I am a shopaholic...hah.

I have to tell you - it took me a long time to get past my ethical dilemma of even using a ticket broker. But once I conceded it's a pretty well entrenched part of the business now, one of the bennies of being an older person with a decent job is that I can indulge from time to time. ;)

But I have limits. Especially when the cost of the concert includes travel expenses. First I always try to get a good seat through the regular sale - I lucked out with that in Baltimore, gettting 2 great pairs of lower sides (for family members) and two good singles - one lower side and one 7th row center on the floor for me! But I knew trying for AC this late broker was probably a foregone conclusion (I've only been lucky one time getting one of those last minute house seat releases - those are too iffy for me!). I did check the regular TM site, just in case, but both the floor sections and tier sections are way back in the back of the house now. So I just looked for the best thing I could afford. Center section first or second row at $1200/seat (and you have to buy two)? Not happening.

Add to that seats are all crap shoots anyway. Two years ago for the Idol tour I was all excited at grabbing a seat during the regular sale I thought would be great - a lower tier, right at the side of the stage. It was in a bunch of seats added after the first day. (Should have been my tip off!) Turns out all the big frickin' speakers were on the stage directly in front of me, and I could really only see when someone walked on to the side thrust above my section (seldom), or out to the thrust stage at the front - at which point I was getting the back view. I ended up moving into an empty seat a couple rows higher and farther over, so I could at least watch someone sing.

For future reference (because I think you are wise to save the splurge for Adam's solo tour if he is your main reason for attending the AI concert)... One hint on "after-market" sites (heh - sounds classier than "broker", right?): all the same tickets tend to show up at all the broker sites, and even eBay - so check around for best pricing (and StubHub ain't it). Also find out what the handling fees of the broker are, and the shipping. Some brokers will have the ticket listed higher because that price includes all the handling fees, but it's not consistent. The site I first saw the Ticket-that-got-away had outrageous handling and shipping fees; I went to a broker more local to me I had used before, and saved about $25 on the order. (moot point, obviously!).

The ticket I ended up with I didn't even see on my favorite little broker site, so I called them - they didn't have the listing, but sent me to the broker actually holding the ticket - not the place I'd seen it - who was listing it for $45 cheaper, charged only a tiny handling fee, and had a non-inflated FedEx delivery fee. It was definitely more expensive than my TM tix, but in terms of broker tix it was almost bargain basement. =D

I opted not to stay in a Casino hotel this time - I'm in a Marriott Courtyard not far from the Boardwalk, because I needed to earn more points!!!

Great info! Thanks. :) I don't usually have to worry about using ticket brokers because I mostly listen to underground music. The shows I go to are typically held in small clubs, they're standing room only, and they're normally far from sold out. haha. I'll have to keep this in mind for furture Adam concerts for sure!

Damn it! I should have caved in the day the ticket went on sale! I can't get ticket anywhere at all around NJ, NY and PA. I know that there are a lot of New Jersey people in here and I would have love to meet up with you guys but luck just won't be on my side at all.

I love AC. Ceasar's Palace is a really good hotel in term of location. Not only that you are close to the hall and Outlet, but across from your hotel is luxury mall Pier's One.

I wanna go!

KayTang - I assume you mean you can't get a decent seat, because I don't think the concerts have sold out...

Have you checked eBay?

Check eBay and broker sites closer to the actual concerts when sellers get a little more desperate to dump seats and lower prices. And you can always do late release roulette at Ticketmaster and hope you can get a house seat. Those are not usually released until a couple days - or even a couple hours! - before the concert...

Hang in there!

Don't know about that, but likely a separate vehicle. They'll be leaving NYC probably by 10am. Even with summer shore traffic I'm thinking they can make it to AC by sound check!

OMG Squeeee I'm so excited!! I just bought a ticket for the AC show!!! I have not gone to a concert of my OWN choosing in....................................................FOREVER! Let's put it this way, in the past 10 years I've seen Dylan at least 12 times. 'Nuf said.

I hope I did the right thing and I'm not going to be sitting in between thirty 10 year olds (well I can just pretend I'm someone's mother, right?) Also I hope I actually get the ticket!

Mr. Jerseytrash was so cool about it - he was "that's what it's there for" (even though it's really an extravegance - but now that I think about it, I just gave up my Day Spa gift certificate to him (which cost about the same so I guess we're even? LOL). I actually enjoy doing things by myself the better I can meet new people because I'm really extroverted and my family are total introverts who find my spontaneous conversations horrifically embarassing...

If anyone wants to meet up before the show...Mr. JT is even driving me and going to hang out while I'm at the show. He's a total keeper right now. :) :) :)

So happy for you, Jerseytrash! A little jealous, too, but not too much, I promise. Hope you and Newland can meet there. AWoP real meetings! Can't wait to be a part of this...

So does anyone know what radio station might be giving away meet and greet tickets? I did a search for Atlantic City Radio stations and it looks like the most likely station would be 95.1 WAYV. They're doing an online contest to win tickets, but I wonder if they might also be giving away Meet and Greet tickets on air. Any info? After seeing the craziness of the waiting at the fences, I'd really love to be able to go to a meet and greet. I have a tiny tiny bit of crowd phobia. I'll brave it for Adam though. ;)

Also, I do think we should meet up before the show if anyone's interested. If anyone has any sugggestions on a good place to meet, that would be awesome.

If you're planning on waiting for the Idols to come off the buses and sign stuff, what time do you plan on getting there? We're staying right next door to Boardwalk Hall, so we can get there at any time.

I think our tentative plan is to scope out the area on Thursday, wake up and get ready on Friday, go hang out and wait for the buses, go back to the hotel for a little while, go to the concert, maybe wait and try to get an autograph again if we don't get one earlier (but the chaos in the videos after the show scares me to be quite honest) and then go out to a night club. There's a nightclub called Dusk at Caesar's that is apparently owned by DJ AM that just opened. I wonder if any of the idols will have time to go out. I hope they do, and I think this might be one of the places they'd go since it's right next door to the venue and it's brand new. I don't know though.

I dont really listen to local radio...except 95.1 in the a.m. sometimes when I drive my kid to school (she likes Mike & Diane - they were big Idol fans!). And I'm a bit past the club stage - but Mr. JT reads The Atlantic City Press religiously and keeps up with the general music hipster scene...I'll ask him what he thinks. :)

I've been trying to think up something creative to get a meet & great pass as well. I'll let you know. :)

well hey - let me know too if you think of something!

I'm all for pre-show meet-ups - though I'll have to rely on jerseytrash for ideas! I think the afternoon bus times are between 2pm and 4pm - that's generally when the performers come in for sound checks. I don't know if I'll be in town that early...but my plans are very fluid for now!

I'm not a huge nightclub person, so I'd have to see how I was feeling post-concert. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to brave a huge screaming bus crowd post-concert, though. =)

eta: Pre-show: might it be easier to meet up somewhere in Caesar's (or just outside) and go from there? Since it's right near the venue and hard to miss!
