Michael Slezak interviewed Beverly McClellan.

Looks like Javier has another Idol connection besides a Twitter endorsement from Adam.

Small world syndrome: Javier Colon, winner of "The Voice," opened some tour dates for Taylor Hicks last year. Who knew?

Bringing these over from the X-Factor Thread

Speaking of OtI (Other than Idol) singing competitions - was anyone else a fan of Beverly McClellan on The Voice? She was my favorite. She has just come out with her new album "Fear Nothing" - it's sorta blues/rock and I think it's great!

Xenia has an EP coming out soon and I was a big fan of her's on the voice.

I also sampled Javiers cd and did not like it at all. I liked him on the show.

They gave him the Script/Kris Allen sound IMO. None of the songs allow his voice to soar which is what I enjoyed about
Javier.

I also liked Xenia and hope she has an interesting album.

I was never really a fan of Javier, but I do acknowledge his talent. I'm sorry he was pushed out of his vocal style. I saw some comments - or maybe it was tweets - expressing disappointment about his album sales. That's a shame.

Loved Bev's songs from the samples I heard. Will definately see if it's being sold here.

I really liked what I hear too.. do we know if the CD is only digital?

Every time I have tried to purchase digital there is always a failure.. meaning I never receive the music. So I really need it in physical CD.. I think I want to buy this one.

re:Javier.. I saw a tweet from Levine.. he seemed to be proud of Javier and his sales.. wonder what the expectations were.

Did anyone watch THE VOICE last night after the SB?

Wasn't bad.. but the judges are still making it about themselves ... and of course next epi.. they will be doing a BIG Prince number.. Yeah..*not*

There were several that sounded pretty good.. and MJ says we already have a couple of "plants"*) 1. old friend of Xtina's from the MMC days.. who has been touring and opening for some big names.... and 2. a X-Glee-Warbler backup singer who has has had a chance to sing w/for David Foster ...
'
their were good.. and so should make it interesting to see what happens with them. They both have music out there to buy..

*) I am not sure why MJ is calling these two "plants" though...aren't all the contestants invited to participate? I thought all the contestants were already in the biz and still trying to get a shot or get to the next level..I didn't think any were really newbies... some are young but I didn't think they were "newbies"

Hey Seashell, I am watching now. I just head Chris and have tears streaming. It was so beautiful.
His tenor was crystal clear and so moving.

Amazing

Off to read MJ's for plants

Don't know about plants, but tonight's eppy included Jamar Rogers, Danny Gokey's bff from AI S8! Back then I was silly enough to believe the AI PTB were setting us up for Jamar as the (wildcard) stealth CO cuz I couldn't believe they actually thought Gokey was good at all! Little did I know they actually liked the Gokester. :/

Reading at TOB, Jordis Unga from Rockstar INXS is supposed to audition on an upcoming episode. Loved her!

So did Jamiar make it?

Color me shocked that the AI powers that be liked Gokey. I loathed him more than a hundred million bruning suns.

Can't wait to see and hear Jordis. I loved her on Rock Star.

I saw tonights eppy.. most of it anyway.

Jamar is now "the Meth guy" ..rly? So when he was on AI8 3 yrs ago.. he was clean for only 2 yrs...I am confused.. (good for him but, I am still confused)

So the guy apparently lived in Atlanta for awhile...is that when he and Danny "were besties"? I don't remember where the Gokester is from.

Was surprised the Yale kid didn't make it.. I thought he was rather good..

these shows tell the story however they want don't they? LOL

Yeah, the Yale guy should have made it.

He had a great voice and they let lesser voices through.

Cute too and great personality.

Maybe the Yale kid will show up again at the end if all the group spots don't get filled..remember how it was last year...there were a handful that had a second shot at a spot on a team

Anyone watch the voice espy last night?

A friend of Perez Hilton was a contestant..Winter Something..don't remember the last name..well I didn't she was very good and neither did the judges..Perez was actually acting like a real supportive "normal" kind of friend.

Well the on to another contestant I am surprised didn't make it...the football dude..I thought he was really good..."Sweet Home Alabama"? Really dude? That one has been over done now getting tired of it for auditions..bet that was why he didn't get picked

How about the guy from Boston..lol. Sounded like he was 10. Lol that should be interesting.. And Cee Lo was drooling over the "Indian princess" girl. The Ex-model what was that called ..the way she was singing..alrighty then..;)

They haven't finished forming teams yet, so I imagine the battle rounds start in two weeks?

I've heard a few voices I thought interesting, but no one yet I can really get behind... After last year I don't even want to get interested until after the battle rounds. ;)

So sad

Javier colon is willing to participate in the winner showdown that cowell suggested

Don't think he is doing so well (you would think 3rd time would be the charm)

Thanks, Hathor...I "google'd" it, too! ;) To me, Simon's challenge reeks of desperation. Honestly, how many "bests' can there be?
