Adam's Show-biz Experience: Main Events

Upright Cabaret
Upright Cabaret is a wildly popular Los Angeles night of song featuring an eclectic mix of artists from stage, record and screen. Adam performed at Upright on a number of occasions – most of his Upright Performances are available on You Tube (just search Adam Lambert Upright Cabaret) or on The Best Arts website. His 'most viewed' performances are from New Year's Eve 2008.

The Zodiac Show
The origins of The Zodiac Show began in 2001 as an after-hours party held in a photo studio and hosted by photographer Lee Cherry and his friend, ex-Pussycat Doll Carmit Bachar. They called it “The Freedom Party” and the event attracted entertainers of varying fame, talent and backgrounds, ranging from recognizable names to underground performers that rapped, danced, spun and thrashed. With such a pool of talent to draw from, sharing the same goal of creative freedom, it was only natural to evolve the party into a real show at a real venue. Adam’s Crawl Thru Fire is from the Zodiac Show, and he is part of the Ensemble that performs the most epic cover of Zepplin's Black Dog.

Adam did two stints in “Wicked,” the musical prequel to “The Wizard of Oz”. He joined the touring company in March 2005 and stayed for six months, then opened in the extended Los Angeles production in February 2007 and remained with the show until October 2008. For both engagements, he was a member of the ensemble and was the understudy for the role of Fiyero, the show’s love interest. You can see Adam in the lead role singing As Long As You're Mine. from the 2nd act of the play.

The Ten Commandments
In The Ten Commandments: The Musical, Adam played the role of Joshua along side Val Kilmer's Moses . The Variety review said: "Lambert does a knock-out version of Is Anybody Listening?". The show received mixed reviews -here's a good one- and - here's a bad one - from the NY Times, which despite its snark says: "The cast boasts a strong assortment of steel-plated pop voices, but Adam Lambert, who plays Joshua, is the most consistent crowd-wower". Yay bb!

Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, European Tour, circa 2003
Adam played the part of "Margaret Mead". The story (around Adam's part) goes like this: Two tribe members dressed as tourists come down the aisle to ask the tribe why they have such long hair. In answer, Claude -the tribe leader - and Berger - the 'free spirit' - lead the tribe in explaining the significance of their "Hair". The tourist lady states that kids should "be free, no guilt" and should "do whatever you want, just so long as you don't hurt anyone." She observes that long hair is natural, like the "elegant plumage" of male birds, which is what the song "My Conviction" says. She opens her coat to reveal that she's a man in drag. Here is the YouTube entry of Adam Lambert singing "My Conviction" during the European tour of the musical Hair.

The Citizen Vein (rock band experience counts, right?)
While on tour with the National Broadway Tour of Wicked for six months, Adam began collaborating with Composer/Guitarist Monte Pittman (Madonna, Prong). They wrote over 20 songs as the alt/pop/rock band THE CITIZEN VEIN. They also worked with Producer Malcolm Welsford and A&R Worldwide and recorded a series of songs. Shortly thereafter, Adam secured his spot on AI8.
Citizen Vein songs: Bad Reputation, Turning On, Beyond the Sky all on one video, The Circle, and Nocturnal by the Moon
